CONTRAINDICATIONS AND PREPARATION

While dermal fillers are safe for most, they are not recommended for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections, or certain autoimmune conditions. A consultation with a qualified practitioner is essential to discuss your medical history and aesthetic goals. To prepare, we advise avoiding alcohol, blood-thinning medications (like aspirin or ibuprofen), and intense exercise for 24 hours before your appointment. This helps reduce the risk of bruising and swelling.

AFTERCARE

Following your treatment, mild swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection sites is normal and usually subsides within a few days. To aid healing, avoid touching your face, hot environments (saunas, sunbeds), alcohol, and strenuous exercise for 48 hours. Keeping your skin hydrated and protected from the sun will also enhance the longevity of your results. Your practitioner may advise using a cold compress to minimise swelling and provide personalised aftercare instructions.

RESULTS

The results of dermal fillers are immediate — you'll notice smoother skin, enhanced volume, and sculpted contours right away. The effects typically last between 6–18 months, depending on the type of filler used, the area treated, and your metabolism.   • What am I to expect after my treatment?

    Immediately after the treatment, patients may experience slight redness, swelling or tenderness around the area that has been treated. They may also experience raised or inflamed skin as well as itching in the treatment area. These side effects are completely natural and tend to subside in one to two days for the vast majority of patients who experience them. On rare occasions, patients may also bruise. However, all of these symptoms will gradually disappear over a period of 7-14 days.
